Barbara Ann Corcoran
Barbara Ann Corcoran, born on March 10, 1949, is an American businesswoman and investor. She is also a lecturer as a consultant, columnist syndicated to a speaker writer, author and television presenter. In 2001, she established The Corcoran Group in New York City. She later sold the business to NRT for $66 million. Shortly thereafter she left the company. Corcoran has been a part of 12 episodes of ABC's Shark Tank seasons. In February of 2020, Corcoran had made 53 deals, the largest being a $350,000 investment which covered 40 percent of Coverplay. Corcoran was the second of 10 children born to an Irish-Catholic couple working in the middle class living in Edgewater, New Jersey. Florence was her mother. She was an excellent household worker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. his father was a multi-talented worker throughout the years of Corcoran's childhood. The family depended on food delivery services for free from a local grocer. Corcoran remembers her father as a man who occasionally was a drinker and was rude to her mother and condescension, particularly when he'd been drinking. Corcoran was a struggle in school, and was later told that she was dyslexic. Corcoran began high school in St. Cecilia High School Englewood after she had left her Catholic elementary school. Corcoran completed her studies at Leonia High School with a degree in English after failing several courses during her first year.
